Folding Camping Chairs

Ideal for many different purposes, camping chairs often add a much-needed element of comfort to outdoor activities. Investing in a couple will come in handy whether you plan on camping, fishing, picnicking, or hanging out on the beach.

Essentially, a camping chair is any chair that is durable and portable. Most have a body that is made from aluminum pipes and covered with a thick material like nylon. However, there are some camping chairs that are more deluxe, like ones that are inflatable or double as rockers. There are even some that fold out into a chair and a miniature table.

As you shop for camping chairs, there are basically three factors to consider:

• Portability: Since you will likely be carrying the camping chair from activity to activity, you want to find one that is easily transported. Most will fold down, but some will even collapse down into a tripod shape, which makes them even easier to carry.

• Durability: When you consider that camping chairs are typically designed for the outdoors, it's no surprise that most are very durable. However, be sure to think about what types of activities you enjoy. For example, if you are an avid fisher, you may want one that is also waterproof or equipped with sturdier and longer legs.

• Weight: The weight of camping chairs is an important factor that is often overlooked. As you make your selection, be sure that you consider the weight of the camping chair, the distance you will have to carry it, and what other items you may be carrying in addition to it. Remember that some of the comfort features like attached tables do add weight to the chair. Ultimately, you will have to decide whether the extra features are worth it.
