      I am 5'3" tall. This chair does not have a strap - you carry it by the handle built into the armrest. I cannot carry it with my arm straight - I must bend my arm. Otherwise, it would scrape along the ground. Loaded down with all my beach gear and walking 5 minutes to the beach carrying a 9 lb chair with my arm bent can be uncomfortable. Okay so I am a wimp! It is also difficult for some of our elderly guests to carry. I will seek out a lighter, more portable chair and give up some comfort on the beach to make carrying easier. Of course, if you are taller or don't have to carry it very far then you won't mind. Otherwise, it is a great chair.

        This chair is great! Roomy and strong enough to hold my 5'9" 250 lb. husband. Folds easily and easy to carry. I love the fact that I can either sit on it or fold it down to lay on my stomach. The towel rack is also very handy. Overall, great chair, I bought another one!!

            We bought these chairs to go on vacation in the Outer Banks, NC. These are excellent chairs. They are roomy and sturdy. They have a pouch for a phone or IPod and a cup holder. I could not have been happier when I located the carry handle ! These chairs were perfect for the beach. There was nothing I could think of that I would have added to this chair to make it any better. If you need a good sturdy beach chair, this is it.

            Comfortable, but it broke after 6 mos. And the primary user barely weighs 100 lbs! The plastic pieces that join the back to the bottom are a major design flaw. First the left side broke, then the right. I would expect this from a cheap chair, not this chair.
