The Steel Hi-Back Beach Chair is our top-of-the-line backpack chair, featuring a rugged 19mm steel frame with hardwood armrests and comfortable carrying straps. The hi-back design with adjustable contoured pillow headrest adds additional sleeping or lounging comfort.

 

The sling-like seat is made of 600d polyester fabric for extended durability and weather resistance. It reclines into four different positions and includes a convenient drink holder. This chair has approximately 1,800 cubic inches of backpack storage.

I was tired of lugging bags of towels, suntan lotion, books and a cooler to the beach, so I bought two chairs, one for my husband and one for me. We like to go to the Outer Banks in NC where the walk to the ocean can be a challenge over a long board walk and then loose sand. These chairs were THE perfect solution; we could put everything in the pockets - beach towels, cooler, books, etc. and then haul everything on our backs. The chair is heavier than most BUT it does not tip over when we go swimming or beach combing, not even in strong winds. We are in our late 60s, by the way, and still had no difficulty. I like that this chair is sturdy as well as comfortable in all positions. The reason I did not rate this chair a "5" is because it is narrow. Any woman who is larger than a size 14 or man who is larger than a 36" waist might have difficulty fitting into this chair.

          when I got it the box looked like it was run over by a truck. The chair is made of very thin fabric & cheap velcro with no extra inside pocket for valuables.
          I have another chair with better construction & inside pocket for around he same money.
          To Hayneedles credit, they did make he situation right. Yay for them. But I would NOT recomend this product.

              The back pack chairs were great for our beach trip. The pouch on the back of the chair was plenty big enough to hold our beach towels,sunscreen and other small beach necessities. They fit comfortably on our backs. We were even able to ride our bikes with them on. My husband loved the pillow. He is 6'1 and weighs about 220 and was plenty comfortable. Would have been nice if the chair arms were a little wider.
