This is a very nice toy for an older child or even an adult. It has to be taken apart and dried after every use, so I don't think it would be a toy you could let a younger child go with. Also wouldn't want to let them drop it because it would probably result in damage to the toy. All in all, a very nice toy for the money.

I purchased this gift for my seven-year-old niece who is very excited about it. Once opened she immediately had to take it to the bathroom and wait for the water to fill up the tub. At that point, she had the entire family stuffed into a bathroom to watch it roam around the tub. I was impressed with its speed. I thought that being a submarine it would move a lot slower but this is just the right speed for her; not too fast, and not too slow. The only problem I have is the other two older nieces want one of their own but there are only two radio channels so the three of them cannot play with three subs in the pool at the same time. Since I live in Michigan, it is currently pretty frozen out there therefore I cannot comment on the submarines durability or how long it lasts, but so far so good. When they take spring break in Florida, I will have a better idea
